Overview
Wisdom Teeth Removal in Chandler
Wisdom teeth are the last molars to come in, usually in the late teens or early twenties. When there isn't room for them, they can grow in at an angle, stay trapped under the gums, or be hard to keep clean. Wisdom tooth removal is one of the most common surgical extractions we perform, though a wisdom tooth that has fully come in can often be removed more simply.
Many family dental offices send patients to an outside surgeon for wisdom teeth. Dr. Gailey, a general dentist, removes most of them here at our Chandler office, and sedation options are available for patients who are anxious about the procedure.
Not every wisdom tooth has to come out. Dr. Gailey reviews X-rays to see where each tooth sits and how close its roots are to nearby teeth and nerves, then explains whether removal makes sense now, later, or not at all.
